Elon Musk has got one step further to modernizing our planet with his new tunnel system which is now been verbally allowed by the US government. He released this info in a series of tweets such as…
@elonmusk “Just received verbal govt approval for The Boring Company to build an underground NY-Phil-Balt-DC Hyperloop. NY-DC in 29 mins.”
What he is essentially trying to do is to build a system where cars can simply roll up onto this movable electric platform which transports them through a series of underground tunnels to the hyperloop that will shoot them to their destinations at a breakneck speed of one thousand two hundred kilometers per hour. Once they arrive at their destination they will be moved by electric platform and diffused around the city. After this connection has been made between DC and NYC the boring company intends of expanding according to this tweet
@elonmusk “For sure. The first set of tunnels are to alleviate greater LA urban congestion. Will start NY-DC in parallel. Then prob LA-SF and a TX loop”.
Steer is designed to prevent you falling asleep at the wheel. It accomplishes this by monitoring your heart rate using 16 different sensors around the wristband. It then takes an average of your heart rate so it can alert you when your heart rate drops due to you falling asleep at the wheel. It follows this up with a flash of the light coming from the band and a gentle vibration, if this doesn’t have an effect on you it then shocks you with an electric shock that gives you a jump which increases the quantity of serotonin, cholesterol and other hormones that will get your heart rate back to normal as well as giving you a bit of energy to carry on with your drive. As an unbiased third party writing about this gizmo I can see the obvious benefit of reducing the number of accidents on roads by keeping more people awake yet there is the large flaw of the possibility of it malfunctioning which could give you too many or to power of an electric shock that could lead to an overdose of hormones. As a final note, this product is currently on Kickstarter and is expected to come out in November for approximately 100 USD.
